You know it. We all know it.
We try to be conscious of this. Of how fast their childhood goes by. Of the need to be present. To enjoy this. To soak it in.
And then what do we do? We look back at our phones. We rush them. We get in an anxiety spiral, we distract ourselves with future plans. It’s like that line from the Counting Crows:
I can’t remember all the times I tried to tell myself
To hold on to these moments as they pass
We know, but we struggle to do it. Maybe that’s the point: We have to struggle. We have to keep trying. We have to keep reminding ourselves. Because these moments are passing. Because their childhood does go by so fast. We must be present. We must come back to the present each time we drift from it. Enjoy it. Soak it in. Hold on.

P.S. This is exactly why we created the Tempus Fugit medallion—it’s a reminder for us parents to be more present with our kids during the time we do have together. Grab yours to carry in your bag or pocket today as an anchor to bring yourself back to the moment. Every minute with our kids is quality time if we’re present.
