Your job is to show your kids all different kinds of lives, all different kinds of places. Make sure they’ve met entrepreneurs and artists. Make sure they’ve met people with nontraditional lifestyles, people of different faiths, who march to different drummers. Make sure they’ve spent time in different places, make sure they’ve heard different worldviews, witnessed the very different levels of success.
They deserve to know what’s out there. They deserve to know what’s possible. They deserve to be able to choose differently than you have…but they can only do that if they know what choices exist.
